ROI or Region of Interest is a computer vision technique. This method is used to detect moving object. While the function of the computer vision is an ability to mimic human movement like eye, hand, and or foot movement. A computer vision algorithms which is used in this paper is ROI (Region of interest). It has been tested and applied to human movement. Data was taken from the input of a CCTV camera. CCTV has been judged capable to record all activities in a public or private area for 24 hours and it is able to assist security officers to secure the vital objects such as campuses, military complex, government buildings and etc. But CCTV has a weakness that can only record a picture without being able to distinguish which is the moving object or stationary objects. It is also very important when CCTV to be put into place certain locations as a museum or a campus and military installations where in each of these places there are the movement of objects.
One of the capabilities of ROI system is able to detect the moving object. In this study, the authors tested the technology to implement the ROI on CCTV which are in college and process the pictures or images from the CCTV input. The results obtained from this study is the ROI system is able to detect moving objects. So that a moving object detection system can be implemented on the campus CCTV system in which the existing CCTV system can detect and can mark moving objects.
