This research was conducted at a private university in West Java originating from the merging of 4 Institutions. The purpose of merging universities to be effective and efficient in managing four universities located on one foundation and supporting the ideals of the foundation to form World Class University. The purpose of this study is to understand the things perceived by employees, especially the cultural shock stage experienced by the academic community in the process and after the merging of universities. This research uses a qualitative method with phenomenology approach to reveal the things that are interpreted in the process of university change especially the shock stage of culture that is felt by the academic community after the merging of Higher Education. Interviews were conducted on 5 subjects who felt the condition before and after the merging of the college. The results obtained in this research are the dynamics of culture shock after the merging of universities consisting of 4 stages such as detachment, culture shock, resilience, well-being.
