The objective of this study is to understand the practical reasons of Indonesian foods and beverages manufacturing companies to comply with Indonesian Ulema Council or Majelis Ulama Indonesia (MUI)’s Halal certification. This study has conducted a depth structured interview using Miles and Huberman protocols to analyse the pattern of findings. The sample was four big foods and beverages manufacturing companies in Indonesia that already secured Halal certification from MUI. The results of study found that drivers are pressure from government, customer, and shareholders. Besides that, supports from top management, availability of technology, and employee capability and knowledge are among the key internal drivers. The future research can utilize the drivers that identified in this study to predict the robust model of Halal Supply Chain.
