Research recently has mostly focused on any other sources of language teaching materials whether in fact, the Islamic materials will broaden students’ knowledge based on Qur’an as the best guidance from the Almighty Allah along with improving students’ English skills. Moreover, the aim of education is not only to make students become smart but also to make them good. To make students become good means the educators should rely on the students background of culture or religion. So that constructing researches related to the Islamic materials as teaching materials especially in ELT are found very interesting. The use of Islamic materials in ELT might be involved in English for Specific Purpose (ESP). The use of Islamic materials in ELT is a kind of using authentic materials. The use of authentic materials is mostly recommended since it is in touch with the real life of the students. Authentic materials refers to the use in teaching of the texts, photographs, video selection and other teaching resources that were not specially prepared for pedagogical purposes. In curriculum, especially related to materials development we used to hear the term of adopting and adapting. That is the use of authentic materials and adapting them with the needs of the students in the classroom. The goal is to create or prepare materials that can serve as resources for effective learning. This research aims at finding out the students’ perception toward the use of Islamic materials in English language teaching. The significances of the research are to inspire the English teachers or lecturers to be more creative in using authentic materials especially Islamic teaching materials for English language teaching. Moreover, the materials used will be as guidance or model in creating Islamic materials in English Language Teaching. The method applied is descriptive qualitative approach. To describe the interest of the students toward the material used, the writer need to explore the students’ responses on the questionnaire as well as interview.
