Hydrangea macrophylla is ornamental plant which is known as Brondong flower and has been widely reported to contain a variety of secondary metabolites which have some activity as antimalarial, antiallergic, antidiabetic and also potentially as antibacterial. Therefore this research aims to obtain secondary metabolites from leaves of this ornamental plants that can provide antibacterial activity.The isolation stage was started with the maceration of processed leaves by using n-hexane and methanol to get an extract. Then the extract were separated by Vacuum Liquid Chromatography (VLC) method and were purified by radial chromatography which were guided by Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) method. The antibacterial assay of the extract and isolate compounds was performed by microdilution method against Salmonella thypii, Shigella dysenteria,
