Multiculturalism education in principle teaches us the importance of maintaining harmony between human relations, although culturally, ethnically, religiously, and so on. Culture is one of the strong foundations in curriculum development, curriculum development process in Indonesia should also pay attention to cultural diversity, multicultural approach in curriculum development in Indonesia is a must that can not be ignored anymore. Literature is very important for students in the development of taste, inventiveness, and initiative. So far, mediation efforts and the process of muffling are mostly done by the government, for example through the impressions that provide information about the multicultural Indonesian society. All these efforts have gone one way without the support of other elements in harmony with the effort. Provision of teaching materials that are filled with multicultural society can form individuals into a society that respects and understands the nature of a multicultural society. Indonesian material, in this case the multicultural literature can be designed by utilizing literary texts in textbooks. Currently, the text in Indonesian language learning is more charged local wisdom, non fiction and information in the international world. Literary texts can be used as teaching materials of Indonesian society into a multicultural society if: The text must be daily; Give an appreciation to the reality of cultural plurality in society; Accommodate differences; Contains multicultural values of Solidarity and Brotherhood, Gender Equality, Family Values, Respect for the Judgment, Self-Sufficiency, Open Trade, Sharing and Control of Power; Besides the literary text displays a display that does not offend or traditions certain groups.
